Billing is the take-off meadow above Bir, reached by a slow road up through Chaugan and forest. It hosted the Paragliding World Cup in 2015. There is very little permanent accommodation — a handful of camps and huts that operate in season — and the reason to sleep here rather than in Bir is to be on the ridge at first light.
Exposed, cold after dark even in summer, and thin on services. This is a ridge, not a village.
